Summer skiing

The ski field is closed but there is still plenty of snow. There is no uplift so i put my skins on (one way bits of material that stick to the bottom of your skiis so you can go up hill and not slide backwards) and got chugging away up the hill. After about 4 hours i reached the top. There lies a large volcanic plateau inviting one to a pleasant look around. A bit of traversing followed by a quick descent saw me safely back to the Chataeu for a cup of tea.

We started our paddling adventure in Chile in the town of Pucon, where we headed out to the nearest whitewater action we could find.

This is the Volcan Villarica which forms a majestic backdrop to the Town.

This is a waterfall on the Coilaco river.......

............Unfortumaelty this was the result of Helen´s experiment in breaking her fall with the paddle shaft

Volcan Osorno and Helen on the Petrohue after it had all healed up .

Interacting with locals on their terms .

Whilst not allowing the wildlife to elude us..................

More to come soon in the next chapter.

Alex Nicks charges ahead on the Puesco (shortly after i would be stripped of all pride losing a paddle and trading a swim down a sieve for two loose teeth and a sore gob for 2 weeks)
